〇野生動物保護の関心が高まった。
〇野生生物をより身近に感じることができるようになった。
〇アカウミガメの生態について学びが深まった。
〇海岸の整備がいかに重要かを考えることができた。
【活動によって今後期待できること】
〇ずっと花峰小学校で続けられてきた身近な自然や生き物を大切にしようとする気持ちを受け
継いで，地元の海岸や自然を守ろうとする活動を続けていこうとする子どもが増えること。
【アピールポイント（活動において特に工夫したこと、注意・注目したことなど）】
〇「ウミガメを守る情けが受け継がれ」という花峰小の下中郷土カルタの一節にもあるこの活動
が長年続けられてきたこと。
〇 地元のウミガメ自然保護監視員と連携し，変わりゆく海岸やウミガメの実態の現実をしっかりと学ぶことができる。
〇 本校は，宇宙留学制度で毎年半数以上の児童が入れ替わる。この下中自然保護活動を通したウミガメとのふれあいの学習等は大変好評で，留学希望動機の一つとなっている。
